Chapter 17
The day of discharge finally arrived,
brilliant and cloudless,
the summer sun warming the city streets with an intense light.
Marcus arrived at the hospital early,
accompanied by a security detail that was discreet but highly prepared.
He walked into the room,
finding Khloe already dressed,
holding Liam gently in her arms,

wrapped in a soft blue blanket.
The baby was small but alert,
his dark eyes looking around the room with a quiet curiosity.
"Are you ready?"
Marcus asked,
walking over to press a soft kiss to Khloe’s forehead,
then to the baby's tiny cheek.
"More than ready,"
she replied,
her voice steady and filled with an immense happiness.
They walked down the hallway together,
the nurses and staff clapping softly as they passed,
wishing them well.
Dr. Cole met them at the exit,
shaking Marcus’s hand firmly and giving Khloe a warm,
paternal hug.
"Take good care of him,"
the doctor said,
smiling down at Liam.
"And take care of each other."
Marcus guided them out to the waiting car,
shielding them from any lingering photographers with his own large frame.
The drive back to the estate was peaceful,
the baby sleeping soundly in his car seat,
unbothered by the motion of the vehicle.
When they passed through the grand gates,
Khloe felt a deep sense of peace wash over her,
knowing that this time,
it was a true homecoming.
The household staff was waiting at the entrance,
but Marcus had ordered them to remain quiet,
wanting to avoid startling the newborn.
He carried the car seat up the stairs himself,
while Khloe walked beside him,
her hand resting gently on his arm.
They entered the nursery,
the warm afternoon sun filling the room,
making the green walls look vibrant and alive.
Marcus carefully lifted Liam from the seat,
placing him gently into the beautiful wood crib they had prepared.
The baby stretched his tiny limbs,
letting out a soft sigh before settling into the plush mattress,
completely at home.

Khloe stood beside the crib,
her arm wrapping around Marcus's waist,
resting her head against his shoulder.
"We did it,"
she whispered,
tears of joy blurring her vision.
"We are home."
"Yes,"
Marcus agreed,
May you like
his arm holding her close.
"This is just the beginning."
