Chapter 34
The preparation for the Paris gala began immediately,
and Marcus wanted nothing but absolute perfection for his wife for this special occasion.
He secretly contacted one of the most exclusive haute couture designers in Milan,
ordering a custom gown that would be unique to her alone,
sparing no expense for the details.
A week before their departure,

a large,
velvet-lined box arrived at the estate,
and Marcus presented it to Khloe in their private sitting room.
Khloe opened the box carefully,
lifting the tissue paper to reveal a breathtaking gown made of midnight blue silk,
embroidered with thousands of tiny,
shimmering crystals that looked like a starlit night sky.
"Marcus,
it's beautiful,"
she gasped,
her fingers brushing against the delicate fabric,
her eyes shining with wonder.
"There is more,"
Marcus said softly,
stepping behind her and opening a smaller leather case that he had been hiding behind his back.
Inside the case lay a magnificent necklace of flawless diamonds,
with a large,
deep blue sapphire hanging from the center,
matching the color of the gown perfectly.
"This belonged to my grandmother,"
Marcus explained,
his voice dropping to a gentle whisper as he lifted the heavy necklace,
"she was the only woman in my family who knew what true love meant."
He placed the cool gems against her skin,
fastening the clasp securely,
before turning her around to face the large mirror.
Khloe looked at her reflection,
seeing the stunning combination of the gown and the heirloom,
but more than that,
she saw the love reflected in her husband’s eyes.
"I feel like a real queen,"
she whispered,
leaning back against him,
her heart overflowing with gratitude for this man who spoiled her so completely.
"You are a queen,
Khloe,"
Marcus replied,
his arms wrapping around her waist,
holding her close as they both looked at their reflection,
"my queen,
the ruler of my heart."
Liam toddled into the room just then,
holding a plush bear,

and looked up at his parents with wide,
curious eyes,
wondering why they were so dressed up.
Marcus laughed,
picking up his son carefully so as not to snag the dress,
and kissed his cheek,
May you like
completing the picture of their perfect,
blessed life.
