Chapter 42
As the sun began to dip below the horizon,
casting long,
dramatic shadows across the meadow,
Liam finally grew tired,
walking back to the blanket with heavy eyelids.
He crawled into Khloe’s lap,
curling his small body into a ball,
and within minutes,

he was fast asleep,
his thumb tucked securely into his mouth.
Marcus pulled a warm wool blanket over both of them,
protecting them from the sudden chill that came with the autumn evening air.
He looked at Khloe,
his eyes deep and mysterious in the fading light,
as if he were contemplating a future that was even brighter than their present.
"Khloe,"
he spoke softly,
his voice carrying a rare,
hesitant quality that instantly caught her attention,
causing her to look up from their sleeping son.
"What is it,
Marcus?"
she asked,
seeing a deep,
burning desire in his eyes that she recognized all too well.
"I want to expand the estate,"
Marcus revealed,
looking around the wide meadow,
"not for business,
not for power,
but for our family."
"I want to build a school here,"
he continued,
"a private academy funded entirely by us,
where Liam and other children can learn,
grow,
and be safe from the pressures of the outside world."
Khloe stared at him,
deeply moved by his vision,
realizing that his mind was always working to protect and nurture the future of their family and community.
"That is a beautiful idea,
Marcus,"
she whispered,
her eyes shining with tears of appreciation,
"a place built on love and knowledge."
"And there is one more thing,"
Marcus added,
reaching out to gently stroke her cheek,
his thumb tracing the line of her jaw with an incredible tenderness.
"I want to fill this house with more laughter,"
he murmured,
his eyes locking onto hers with an unspoken,
deep longing,
"I want Liam to have a brother or a sister to run through these gardens with."
Khloe’s breath hitched in her throat,
her heart pounding wildly with a joy so intense it was almost overwhelming,
as she processed his words.
She looked down at Liam,
then back at Marcus,

knowing that there was nothing she wanted more in this world than to watch their love grow even further.
"Yes,"
she whispered,
a beautiful,
radiant smile breaking across her face in the twilight,
May you like
"let’s give him a sibling,
Marcus."
