Chapter 26

"I have to go to London,"

Marcus said softly,

his eyes searching hers for any sign of disappointment or sadness,

"there is an issue with the merger that requires my presence."

Khloe looked at him for a long moment,

seeing the conflict in his eyes,

and she knew how hard it was for him to balance his two worlds.

Instead of being upset,

she offered him a warm,

reassuring smile,

understanding that he was a man who carried the weight of thousands of employees.

"Then you must go,

Marcus,"

she said gently,

her voice steady and filled with absolute faith in him,

"the foundation and the estate will be perfectly fine."

Marcus stared at her,

amazed by her strength and her grace,

realizing yet again how blessed he was to have her as his queen.

"I will be back before the weekend,"

he promised,

reaching out to cup her face in his large hands,

his thumb stroking her cheek tenderly.

"Take all the time you need to fix it,"

Khloe replied,

leaning into his touch,

"we will be right here waiting for you."

Julian stood a respectful distance away,

pretending to study the documents in his folder,

though a small smile played on his lips at the sight of their devotion.

"Have the private jet prepared for departure within two hours,"

Marcus commanded,

looking over his shoulder at Julian,

who immediately nodded and pulled out his phone.

"It will be ready,

sir,"

Julian said,

before bowing slightly and walking away to make the necessary arrangements.

Marcus turned back to Khloe,

pulling her into a tight embrace,

wishing he could freeze time right there in the hallway.

"I hate leaving you,"

he whispered into her hair,

his grip tightening as if he could keep the world away.

"I know,"

she whispered back,

wrapping her arms around his waist,

"but a few days will pass in a heartbeat."

They walked back to their bedroom together,

May you like

preparing for the journey ahead,

bound by a love that no distance could ever diminish.
