Chapter 40
The following week brought a new sense of purpose to the estate,
as Khloe officially launched the next phase of her foundation’s expansion plan.
With the success of the Paris gala,
donations had poured in from all over the world,
allowing them to fund not just the hospital wing,
but also several mobile medical clinics for rural areas.

Marcus sat in his study,
watching through the window as Khloe conducted a meeting with her project managers on the terrace,
her leadership natural and inspiring.
He felt a deep satisfaction knowing that his resources were being used to bring so much good to the world,
guided by the pure heart of his wife.
Julian walked into the study,
carrying a fresh stack of documents,
but his face bore a distinct expression of satisfaction rather than his usual professional mask.
"The Sterling family has officially issued a public apology to the foundation,
sir,"
Julian announced,
placing a press release on Marcus's desk.
"It seems Xavier Sterling’s behavior in Paris was leaked to the press,"
Julian explained,
"and their family stock took a significant hit as a result."
Marcus glanced at the paper,
a cold,
calculated smirk touching his lips,
knowing that justice had been served without him having to lift a single finger this time.
"They brought it upon themselves,"
Marcus stated indifferently,
"let it be a lesson to anyone who thinks they can disrespect my family."
"Indeed,
sir,"
Julian agreed,
"and on a lighter note,
the contractor reports that the hospital wing will be completed three months ahead of schedule."
"Excellent,"
Marcus said,
standing up from his desk and walking toward the window to get a better view of Khloe,
"make sure they have whatever additional funding they need to maintain that pace."
Julian nodded,
preparing to leave the room,
but he paused for a moment,
looking at his boss with a rare,
personal warmth.
"It is good to see you so happy,
Mr.
Vance,"
the loyal assistant said softly,
"the change in this house is truly a miracle."
"It wasn't a miracle,

Julian,"
Marcus replied,
May you like
his eyes never leaving Khloe’s smiling form in the garden,
"it was her."
