Chapter 13 - The Capture
The loan sharks found the groom first,
cornering him in a dark alley.
They beat him until he could not stand,
demanding the money he still owed them.
As they prepared to break his legs,
flashing blue lights illuminated the walls.
The police swarmed the narrow alleyway,
arresting the violent gangsters.
The bleeding groom was also arrested,
dragged into a cold police car.
He was handcuffed and covered in bruises,
shivering in his torn suit.
A detective walked into the room,
slamming a thick file on the table.
"You are facing years in federal prison,"
the detective announced with a grim smile.
