The courtroom was packed with nosy reporters,
eager to cover the scandal of the year.
The groom sat beside his public defender,
looking pale and utterly hopeless.
The maid took the wooden witness stand,
swearing to tell the whole truth.
She played the audio recording for the jury,
exposing his cruel threats against his child.
The jury gasped in total horror,
looking at the defendant with pure disgust.
The bride watched from the front row,
holding the maid's daughter in her lap.
The little girl drew pictures on a paper,
oblivious to her father's downfall.
The prosecutor delivered a fiery argument,
demanding maximum punishment for the fraud.
