Chapter 9 - The Desperate Plea

He drove to the massive estate,
hoping to beg for another chance.
The security gates were locked tight,
guarded by men who recognized him.
"Please let me talk to her,"
he pleaded with the tall guards.
The head guard simply laughed,
pointing a heavy baton at him.
"She does not want to see you,"
the guard warned him sharply.
The groom fell to his dirty knees,
crying like a pathetic child.
A sleek black car pulled up suddenly,
and the tinted window rolled down.
The bride looked at him with disgust,
wearing a pair of dark sunglasses.
"You are pathetic,"
she whispered coldly.

The window rolled back up smoothly,
and the car drove away quickly.
