Chapter 4 - The Escape From Reality

Bride: I need to get out of this dress,
it feels like it is suffocating me,
I cannot breathe.
Maid: I know the feeling,
the weight of his lies is heavy,
it crushes your lungs.
Bride: Why are you still here?
You got what you wanted,
he is gone.
Maid: I did not want this,
I never wanted to ruin your day,
I just wanted the truth out.
Bride: Well,
the truth is out,
and my life is completely destroyed.
Guest: We should probably leave the bride alone,
she needs some space,
let us clear the hall.
Bride: Yes,
everyone just leave,
leave me to my misery.
Maid: I will go too,
I am sorry for the pain I caused you,
you did not deserve this.
Bride: Wait,
before you go,
tell me about the boy.
Maid: His name is Leo,
he has his father's eyes,
but thankfully my heart.
Bride: Does he ask about him often?
Does he miss a man he never knew?
How do you explain it to him?
Maid: I tell him his father is lost,
lost in a world of greed and ambition,
unable to find his way home.
Bride: That is a poetic way to describe a traitor,
I just call him a liar,
a manipulative liar.
Maid: You are lucky you found out today,
imagine finding out after five years,
after having a child with him.
Bride: You are right,
I am the lucky one,
though I do not feel lucky at all.
Guest: My heart breaks for both of them,
two women manipulated by one cruel man,
it is a tragedy.
Bride: I need a drink,
a very strong drink,
and maybe a new life.
Maid: It gets easier,
the pain fades over time,
the scars just become a part of you.
Bride: I do not want scars,
I wanted a fairy tale,
I wanted a happily ever after.
Maid: Fairy tales are written by men,
to keep women dreaming,
while they build their real empires.
Bride: That is the saddest thing I have ever heard,
but today,
I think I believe it.
Maid: I must go back to my son,
he is waiting for me,
goodbye.
Bride: Goodbye,
take care of Leo,
do not let him become his father.
Maid: I would die before I let that happen,
he will be a good man,
I promise you that.
Bride: Finally,
alone,
just me and this stupid white dress.
Father: You are not alone,
May you like
I am here,
and we will get through this.
